Stop whatever you are doing and go here. The food is delicious, authentic, and downright AMAZING. I went to this restaurant twice, not once, TWICE in one day. I had it for brunch (shrimp enchilada and a shrimp taco for me, carne asada tacos for my fiancé) and dinner (shrimp tacos with extra rice and the same thing my fiancé had for lunch).
It's just that good. Just go here. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. -

Definitely my favorite Mexican food in Grand Rapids so far! The food is so authentic and there is limitless options. If you are vegetarian, Halal foodie, or just like having options in general, this is definitely the place to try out.
Also, if you're on a budget, don't fret, they have great options for cheap. #BrokeMedStudentLife
They offer combinations, however, sometimes with separate orders you get larger portions.
Love spice??? Try their homemade jalepeno sauce! They also have a sweet-spicy sauce but the jalepeno one has won me over.
Add a Jarritos or Mexican coke to make your meal complete!
(The only issue is that it is a residential area so no parking lot but plenty of street parking!) -

The food is delicious. I had the marinated pork chimichanga and my son had the ground beef chimichanga. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. For the finale, we had fried ice cream.
I recommend this place for great Mexican food. -

My coworker moved into this neighborhood and saw 7 Mares and mentioned it to us. I loved the vibe of this place - it looks a bit like a house with a restaurant on the first level. There are probably 10 tables and a small kitchen. I ordered 3 tacos - al pastor, barbacoa, and tripe. All of them were seasoned really well; the marinated pork was very tasty, as was the beef barbacoa, but the tripe was the best I've had so far. It was the perfect texture, seasoned perfectly, and was so good! If you're apprehensive about trying tripe, this is the place to try it.

Siete Mares is our favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in GR. My partner grew up in Mexico, and going there reminds him of home. The staff are very friendly, the menu is extensive, and they're always very careful with food allergies or special orders. Plus, chips and salsa while you wait! It's a small restaurant with a family atmosphere. A hole-in-the-wall place that's absolutely worth it. They have amazing chicken tacos, fyi.
